Dorval alternative residence

New mandates

By Johanne Laurin 22 July 2022

At the behest of the Société québécoise des infrastructures (SQI), we are delighted to build Dorval’s new alternative residence, intended for adults requiring specific care. Among the first of its type in Quebec, this new facility will be located on Dawson Avenue, a stone’s throw away from the Batshaw Youth and Family Centre and will provide accommodations and healthcare services for its clientele.

Divided into six units of 12 rooms each, the residence will replicate the welcoming feeling of a home to its 72 residents by offering single rooms equipped with adapted toilets, showers, and other amenities. Residents and their families will also have access to indoor and outdoor common areas that cater to their needs and enjoy their custom-made building and its hospitable environment, conducive to their development.

Focused on offering quality care to its residents, this project is part of a major transformation of residential and long-term care facilities initiated by the Quebec government.

This project is aiming for a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. Works began in June 2022 and should be finished by November 2023. The first residents are expected to move in by winter 2024.

We want to thank the Société québécoise des infrastructures for awarding us this innovative project that will contribute to improving the quality of life of its residents.
