Island Gold Mine
Raising of four existing dykes and the construction of a new dyke for the primary settling basin of the Island Gold mine tailing area in Dubreuilville, Ontario. In addition to rock and till backfill construction, the work includes rock injection and surface cleaning, stone crushing and screening, construction of an emergency spillway and discharge channel,two pumping ponds, an access road, and water management system as well as sediment control. The project involves some technical features: geometry, injection & Bentofix. The raw material used was produced from the crushed rock taken at the tunnel and contained steel. Thus, using magnets, the material was sorted before crushing.
