Ivanhoe Lake Dam

Contract to perform works for the removal of the existing concrete stilling basin located along the downstream side of the Ivanhoe Lake Dam and replacement with a new and longer stilling basin. The Ivanhoe Lake Dam is midway between Chapleau and Timmins, Ontario and accessible by the Ivanhoe Lake Provincial Park.

  • The work consists of extending the length of the stilling basin from 11.7m to 29.5m.
  • Work associated with the extension includes new apron walls on the east and west side, steel sheet piling for the end walls, steel soil tieback anchors at the wingwalls and concrete repairs to the existing stilling basin.
  • Construction of a cofferdam on the downstream side
  • To meet objectives, clearing, excavation of overburden and rock, earthworks, concrete, waterproofing and drainage, sheet pile cofferdam construction, repair and demolition of concrete structures, and restoration of the site are required.
