Seniors and alternative homes in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Châteauguay and Sherbrooke

New mandates

By Johanne Laurin 2 December 2020

In partnership with Construction Longer, EBC is proud to announce that the EBC-Longer group was awarded by the Société québécoise des infrastructures (SQI) management services for the construction of three seniors’ houses known as “maisons des aînés”, located respectively in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Châteauguay and Sherbrooke. In Châteauguay and Sherbrooke, the homes will also be alternative, serving the elderly as well as an adult clientele with specific needs.

Built as a home, this new type of accommodation will promote human interaction as well as a more active lifestyle. This initiative is part of a major transformation of the residential and long-term care facilities by the Québec Government.

Located on Saint-Luc Boulevard in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, the new establishment will have 16 air-conditioned housing units with 12 places each, including individual rooms with a toilet and shower adapted to each resident. Both on Principale Street in Châteauguay and André-Breton Street in Sherbrooke, the future seniors and alternative homes will have 10 units each, offering the same services.

432 new places will thus be created through these three modern facilities. The construction will be carried out using the BIM and IDP (integrated design process) approach.

The projects began at the end of October 2020 and end in July 2022.

Thank you to the Société québécoise des infrastructures for their trust. Our teams are happy to unite their efforts for this great social project and to make a difference in the lives of the residents and their loved ones.
