Site C : The Generating Station and Spillways (GSS) Civil Works

The Generating Station and Spillways (GSS) Civil Works is one of the largest contracts awarded for the Site C project, which is a dam and generating station in northeastern British Columbia (BC) of 1,100 MW. AFDE Partnership, the joint venture in which EBC is part, is responsible for this mandate. Scope of work includes :

• Construction of the powerhouse : Procurement, fabrication and erection of structural steel, Procurement and installation of 6 concrete intake, Procurement and installation of embedded pipes, ground grid and conduit, Concrete placement to secure the turbine-generators, Installation of hydromechanical equipment
• Works related to the construction of six penstocks. Each penstock measures 10 meters in diameter and 80 meters in length, nearly as wide as a three-lane highway
